Birds in Lesvos
Potentially of interest to British birders, these fantastic shots of a first-winter Steppe Grey Shrike on Lesvos illustrates nicely all of the key ID features of this distinctive race including the pale bill and lores and the extensive white in the wing.
Amongst the other species noted were this Red-backed Shrike and Short-toed Eagle.
All photos by Glyn Sellors.

Lesser Grey Shrike and Ruddy Shelducks in Norfolk
Two excellent photos by Will Bowell of the weekend's popular Lesser Grey Shrike near Weybourne.

Also 8 Ruddy Shelducks found by Will at Burnham Overy which were present briefly, and presumably the birds seen earlier in the day flying south along the south Lincolnshire coast. Wild? Self-sustaining feral from the near continent? Fence hoppers? Tick according to your conscience :-)
