Roseate Terns, South Shields, County Durham

Four beautiful photos of this increasingly rare British breeding bird by Glyn Sellors. These two ringed birds are more than likely from their stronghold further north along the coast in Northumberland at Coquet Island, where 90% of UK Roseate Terns now breed.

Red-footed Falcon, Derbyshire

Four fabulous shots of the female Red-footed Falcon near Ingleby in Derbyshire by Glyn Sellors. Although there has been quite an influx of these beautiful birds into the UK, it does seem to be far less than the remarkable record-breaking invasion of 1992... much to the relief of Birdnet's pager operatives!

Red-footed Falcon in West Yorkshire

With unusually large numbers of Red-footed Falcons passing through northeast Spain and southern France followed by an influx of these smart falcons onto the Dutch coast, many birders are hoping this spring will be a repeat of 1992. This female at Pugney's Country Park is hopefully one of a handful of forerunners with plenty more on their way! Photos by Glyn Sellors.
